So I have been through many trials that forces or had forced wounds that will be scars for life. Now I have see how hurt can change people into something that they never expected to be, sometimes for the better and sometimes not so much. There are pains, emotions that you feel that you think no one else can possibly know what it feels like. Or know what you are going through. Depression is a battle that can be won! Just knowing that there is always hope that someday you will understand it all, and that you won`t feel so alone and lost in the depth.
In my journey through it, I had to push all that I knew aside and allow myself to be handed over the my faith in the Father; because I knew he loved me and had a plan that will unfold into something that is good.
O LORD, You are my Elohim; I will exalt You, I will give thanks to Your name; For You have worked wonders, Plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness.
Isaiah 25:1
`For I know the plans that I have for you,` declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
I had been searching and praying for “my path”, but I did not feel or sense like I had received an answer that would solve all my problems. However, one night I was at a low point, that I could not possibly see a way out of giving in…. I had silenced my mind off and buried my head in a book, trying to leave all my troubles behind. Then in my book I came to a page with a verse (rather a chapter) that really spoke to me through and through. In the book the main character was in a lost place of her own and she cried out about Lamentations chapter 3!
I read through it in the book and it brought out of the stories world and back to reality. I grabbed to my Bible to look it up and read it for real for myself. To tell you the truth, that Bible chapter really hit the situation right on the head, and I have never been able to find the words to what went on that night, but that chapter, especially verse 24. has really stayed with me through the continuation of my search for “my good path”.
“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I have hope in Him.” The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the person who seeks Him.
Lamentations 3:24 – 25
I encourage for you to read through the whole chapter of Lamentations 3, if you want to try and see what I had seen that low night. Or maybe you will see something different, something that might help with whatever stage of life you are in now? You never know unless you look with an open heart, as well as open mind.
